On September 9th 2014 at 7 am, Mr Aji’s
class began on time with greetting to the students. This is the second time Mr.
Aji taught in “PTI Offering D 2012”. That day is the schedule for all students
to perform the previous week task.
The students in group had to tell the
story about “The Lion King” movie in front of the class. Each group consists of
two people. This activity was done with estafette technique. The first group
went forward and told the story, and then the next group would continuing the
story, as well as so on until the story ends.
There are rules that must be adhered by
all groups. First, each group must tell the story in English and Indonesian.
Student “A” told the story in English and student “B” translated it into
Indonesian, and then they switched positions, student “B” told the story and
student “A” translated it. The second rule is that each group could not miss
the storyline. If their story is not complete or is not in sync with the
previous story, they would be punished by Mr.Aji.
Group would perform determined by Mr. Aji.
He called each group in a unique way. He mentioned traits or character of each
student. For example, student with brown shoes, student who do not carry a
wallet, a group consisting of all male, etc. And then, student who have
character that mentioned by Mr.Aji must perform with their group and told the
story in front of the class.
Group of Iqbal and Ilham told the story fluently,
eventhough they are not bring the text in front of the class like most of the
group. They are just telling what they remember in the movie.
A
lot of funny things happened during the class. There are some groups who are
punished because their story is not complete. One is the group of Firdausa and
Jevri. They missed the storyline of the movie, so they had to enforce penalties
from Mr. Aji. They had to sing “Gundul-Gundul Pacul”, but the lyric was
replaced by story text of Lion King movie. When they started to sing, everyone
laughed in the class room, including Mr.Aji. The way they sing was really very
funny.
Another group who are punished is the
group of Gagas and Elfrid. They even punished twice. The first punishment, Mr.
Aji ordered them to dance “Hakuna Matata” just like in the Lion King movie.
With enthusiasm, another students clapping and yelling “Hakuna Matata”, while
Gagas and Elfrid dancing. Not just make a mistake once, this group make
mistakes again and make them should be punished for the second time. This time,
they danced to a song titled "Kemesraan Ini" that was sung by another
students. Mr Aji and the students really could not stop laughing when they
dance in front of the class.
After all the students finished telling
story of Lion King, Mr. Aji gave another assignment to the students for two
weeks later. Almost the same as the previous task, he told us to watch a movie and
retelling it. But this time, the movie is an Indonesian old movie titled “Malam
Satu Suro”. Of course, it will be more difficult than the previous task.
