In our second meeting of Advance
English lesson on 9th September 2014, Mr. Aji attend the class
around 7.20 so that mean he was late because the class actually start on 7.00.
Before Mr. Aji attend the class, everyone talk about a movie, The Lion King.
Some students also, watch the movie or made resume about the movie so they can
remember the story well. After Mr. Aji came, everyone stop their activity to
start the lesson. Then Mr. Aji greet to everyone in the class, sit in front of
the class and after that everyone pray to god.
And the lesson begin here. Mr. Aji ask the students to
sit with their group and then explain some rules before we story telling about
The Lion King, the movie that we watch. Here are the rules that Mr. Aji told to
the class :
1.
Mr. Aji will give some rule for the group that will be
story teller in front of the class. For examples : both group are female or one
person of the group have a wallet in their clothes. So, the group who
appropriate with clue which giving by Mr. Aji can go to front of class to tell
again the synopsis of Lion King “Movie”.
2.
The story teller group will speak one sentence for
each person which one person speak in English and the other translate to
Indonesian.
3.
The story teller group can skip the story or scene of
the movie, but the other story teller group that continue the story must have a
relations with the story before them.
4.
If the group break the rule number three, there will
be a punishment to the group.
After
explain the rules, everyone listen careful to Mr. Aji word and the story
telling start here.
The First Group who tell the synopsis is a Siti and Cahyaning group’s. After the first group finish they
story, the other group continue the story from the first group until the end of
the story. It was an amazing lesson we and class was have fun with the lesson.
And here are the story that we tell in front of the class.
1.
After that samba run and run until he exhausted and he
fainted in the dessert.
2.
When he fainted, Timon and Pumba, a markeet and a pig
save him from the dessert.
Singgih
tell the
first sentence of the
synopsis in English and my teammate Uzul translate in
Indonesian after that we
change Uzul tell the second sentence in English and Singgih translate
in
Indonesian. Our group tell the synopsis correctly so we didn’t get the punishment
from
Mr. Aji.
Well, some group get a punishment because they tell a wrong story and
had no relation with the story from earlier group. The group who get punishment
are Daus and Jevri’s group, also Elfrid and Gagas’s group. For Daus and Jevri
the punishment was to sing “Gundul – Gundul Pacul” but the lyric was change
became a resume of The Lion King movie from someone group.
We and my classmates laugh
and applause when they sing the song. And for Elfrid and Gagas is act like Timon
and Pumba and they must dance while the class sing a song. The song that the
class sing is “Hakuna Matata”, well that was hilarious. When they dance, other
student sing and some student recorded the dance, it’s was fun.
But after every group tell the story in front of class, the story is not
finished. So Mr. Aji ask Jevri and Daus, Ardi and Dika, also Elfrid and Gagas. When
Jevri and Daus tell in their second turn they not made mistake,
after that Ardi and
Dika go forward
and they is clear too. But when Elfrid and Gagas told the story they tell a
wrong story again so, they get punishment again. The punishment was same, but
the distance of the dance became longer than before. And hilarious moment
happened again. That’s what happen during the story telling of The Lion King. During
the story telling Fawzul and Singgih listen to the story and Mr. Aji, we also
read our resume so we won’t miss the story and make sentences just for case if
we tell the story in front of class. The other student just do the same as we
do also some students watch the movie during the story telling.
After finish the story, Mr Aji tell the class about the next meeting
activity and two weeks later task. The next meeting we will learn how to make a
good summary and such. And the task was to watch a movie again but with
different tittle, the title is “Malam Satu Suro” is a horror movie. Well it’ll
be fun. After that Mr. Aji close the lesson and leave the class on 8.40.
