September 23, 2014 is the fourth meeting of English Engineering course with Mr.Aji. Actually , this meeting is the schedule for all students to perform presentation of the previous week task, which retells the movie " One Night Suro " in group. But, this activity was delayed because Mr. Aji want to describe about CV and Resume writing.

Before the lesson begins, Mr. Aji reminded about the task of interviewing foreign tourists in Malang. This task was collected two weeks later after this meeting. There are at least four things that should be discussed in the interview. It is about the tourist identity, their job or what they were doing in Malang, the differences of ICT in Indonesia and their countries, and the last is about their opinions about our translation writing. Mr. Aji also not forget to inform about the ethics that must be done if we are going to do the interview. One of the ethics is if we want to record the activities of the interview or take a picture of the foreigner, we have to ask for permission first.

As a distraction , Mr. Aji also told us about the meaning of the word "bule" in Indonesia. He told us that “bule” is a word spoken Indonesian people which actually intended to mock the tourists. “Bule” in Indonesia means buffalo which have white color in skin, it is the same with foreigner’s skin. This is because the hatred of Indonesian to Japan and Netherland people who had invaded Indonesia.

After reminding students about the interview task, Mr Aji explained about CV and Résumé writing. He explained how to write and what is inside the CV and Résumé. CV and Résumé is always attached to the application letter when we will be applying for jobs. CV is the term used by the British , while Resume for Americans. CV may contain 7 elements, they are personal information, objective/profile, education and qualifications, work experience, skills, interests, and references. But in Résumé writing, references are not necessary. Another difference is in CV writing some people do not include objective/profile section, but in Résumé, the objective section should be stated in terms of a realistic short-term goal and/or a job for which you are currently qualified.
