This
day is supposed to be the fourth met of the “English For Engineering II”
lesson, because of Mr. Aji Prasetya as Lecturer of this lesson can’t teach the
class last week, so today is the third met. And Mr. Aji is abit late came to
class, after all of preparation done, he started to explain what we are
learning about there was preparing and writing a resume. The resume in here
have two type, there is Curriculum Vitae (British Version) and Resume (American
Version). That resume or CV is must latest update and it is function is for
looking for a job. While the lecturer explained about the lessons, all of
students hear the lecturer seriously.
Mr.
Aji explained all of the contain of CV, there was :
- Personal information its contain name, address, etc. But don’t add your age, gender, nationality, race, religion or marital status because it is forbidden.
- Objective and Profile its contain what you are looking for and who you are
- Education and qualifications, how to write this information is reverse order, and don’t include information about primary school
- Work experience, this is also write in reverse order beginning with the most recent job
- Skills its contain about your pratical abilities, includes any formal qualifications relating to these skills
- Interests its your interest about something, like sport, creative activities, and community activities. But don’t write an interest like reading or travel
- References its contain the name and address of people who know you, so they can give information to a potential employer about your character and abilities like the head of school, head of university or the leadership of your job. But ask that people first before you write them as references
After
Mr. Aji explained all of the lessons, he give the task for next week there are
to interview the foreigner with the topic is introduction, their occupation,
ask to compare the ICT in Indonesia with their hometown, and asked them about
the Indonesia-English translasion about the “Malam Satu Suro” Movie, compare
types of CV with Indonesian Resume, and create CV or Resume for dream job.

Compare both types of CVs with
Indonesian resume :
There
is difference between CV, Resume and Indonesian CV :
- In field Personal Information CV Indonesian version there is age, gender, nationality, race, religion or marital status but in British and American version it is not necessary and forbidden to include them.
- In CV British Version there was Objective/Profile, same with American Version but the objective should be stated in terms of a realistic short-term goal and/or a job for which you are currently qualified. While in CV Indonesian version it is not needed.
- Both CV and Resume the field of Education and Qualifications there are shown in reverse order and not include information about primary school. But in CV Indonesian version there are shown the last education in last line and include all of information about education.
- Same like Education and Qualifications, Work Experience in CV and Resume are shown in reverse order beginning with the most recent. But in CV Indonesian Version the first job place in the first line.
- Both CV and Resume there is Interests field that explain the applicant interest about something in a short section, but in Indonesian Version the Interests was not necessary.
- The References is exist for CV and CV Indonesian Version only it is contain the name and address of people who know you, in Resume there was not necessary.
