Weekly Report – November 4, 2014
In that meeting, the class was
presented their interview foreigner about their resume about “Malam Satu Suro”.
Before we start the presentation, Mr. Aji told the class about the rules. The
rules are “the group that presented in front of the class start with the group
that consist both female then continued with group that consist male and female
and then with group that consist both male in the group”.
After Mr. Aji told the rules, the
presentation start. Each group tell their experience in front of the class. Our
group tell our experience near the end of the presentation. For each group that
presented their interview, Mr. Aji ask about the group mistake in their resume.
And in our resume is “Because he want to make the ghost his daughter then he then drove the nails into the head of the ghost named Suketi, the
curious spirits”.
After all group presented their
interview,Mr. Aji gave task to make resume about “ the mistake when we make resume about malam satu suro”. And he
ask us to upload it to our class website.
And
for next week, we will presented our observation in front of the class. And the
last, he close the lesson and leave the classroom.
Mistakes When Translate From Indonesian to English
When we translate our resume from
Indonesian to English, we found some common mistake in our resume when we look
from other group. And here are the mistakes :
- Grammar
Sometimes, we confuse of using past tense, simple
tense, and future tense in our resume. It make the foreigner confused when read
the resume.
- The using of Passive voice or Active voice.
- Choosing word but we choose a wrong so it make the sentence
bizarre. Also, we didn’t realize if we type a wrong word in Ms. Word.
For example : Then Bardo purpose Suketi is a wrong sentence because the sentence should be
Then Bardo propose Suketi…
- Singular / Plural Word (Countable / Uncountable ).
For example : Single (Book, Sugar) in Plural become
(Books, Sugar).
- Repeated word when doesn’t necessary.
For example : Because he want to make the ghost his
daughter then he then drove the nails into the head of the ghost named Suketi, the
curious spirits should be Because he want to make the ghost his daughter then he drove the nails into the head of the ghost named Suketi, the curious
spirits.
- Switched word in sentences.
For example : Hat Red should be Red Hat.
